How PolyLevel® Works

Whether it's a driveway, walkway, patio, garage floor, or pool deck, the causes of concrete settlement and sinking are all the same. As the soil beneath a concrete slab shrinks, settles, or washes away, this leaves empty space beneath the concrete slab. With the soil no longer properly supporting the slab, the concrete will sink and create an uneven surface.

PolyLevel® uses a high-density polyurethane foam to fill those harmful voids while stabilizing and lifting sunken concrete slabs. The expanding properties of the two-part urethane formula allows for accurate leveling of the slab by our installation experts. The result is a waterproof repair that's much more permanent than other common concrete repair methods such as mudjacking.

PolyLevel step 1: drilling injection holes

1

Small 5/8” holes are strategically drilled in the concrete slab.

PolyLevel step 2: installing injection ports

2

Injection ports are installed for controlled application.

PolyLevel step 3: injecting polyurethane foam

3

Polyurethane foam is injected underneath the concrete to fill gaps and raise the slab.

PolyLevel step 4: sealing holes and control joints

4

Holes and control joints are sealed.

Driveways

If your driveway has become sunken or uneven, a full replacement might not be the most cost-effective option. Defender Concrete Solutions can use PolyLevel® to raise your driveway, creating an even surface and preventing further sinking or cracking from lack of support. Our driveway leveling process can eliminate unsafe conditions, improve the curb appeal of your home, and extend the life of your driveway.

Sidewalks & Walkways

An uneven sidewalk looks bad and creates a tripping hazard. If the concrete slab is still intact, opt for a repair instead of replacement. With PolyLevel®, we can raise your sunken sidewalk and have you walking on it in as little as one hour thanks to the fast cure time. Our sidewalk leveling process saves you time and money in the long run.

Patios, Porches, and Landings

Your patio should be a place of relaxation free from trip and fall hazards due to uneven concrete. You might also notice your table and chairs wobbling because of uneven concrete, which puts a damper on outdoor entertainment. Concrete leveling can eliminate these issues and provide a safe, even surface for you to enjoy.

Concrete Floors & Slab Foundations

If your home has sloped floors, cracked floor tiles, gaps below baseboards, gaps at the tops of walls, or sticking doors and windows, you might have a concrete settlement problem. Our use of polyurethane foam for concrete floor leveling is a long-lasting, cost-effective alternative to self-leveling treatments.

Concrete Pool Decks

Has your concrete pool deck seen better days? In areas around the pool, trip and fall hazards from cracked, uneven concrete can be especially dangerous. This can also allow water to pool and create slippery conditions. Thankfully, PolyLevel® can raise your concrete pool deck back to its original position and help restore your backyard pool area into the backyard oasis it once was.

Traditional Concrete Lifting vs PolyLevel®

Before PolyLevel®, mudjacking and slab replacement were the most common options for concrete leveling. Both approaches have limitations and disadvantages, especially when compared to PolyLevel®:

Mudjacking

  PolyLevel
Foam Injection
Mudjacking or Slabjacking
Cure Time 15 minutes 24 hours or more
Material Weight 2 lbs per cubic foot 100 lbs per cubic foot
Hole Size 5/8" (size of a penny) 1" (size of a quarter)
Waterproof Yes No

Concrete Replacement

Replacing a concrete slab is both expensive and disruptive to your home or business. Concrete slabs can take days, sometimes even weeks, to cure. Since your slab may be failing due to poor soil conditions, pouring new concrete over bad soil will simply delay future problems and leave unsightly patchwork. PolyLevel® material is lightweight and won't add weight to weak soil, which would only create more problems. Best of all, PolyLevel® allows for use of concrete within hours, not weeks, thanks to its quick cure time.

If your concrete is structurally-sound, why fully replace it? Replacing the concrete won't fix the underlying soil problem that's causing the settlement. That's why concrete leveling is the answer.
